Earthsite Endorses California Clean Jobs Act

ca_clean_jobs_act2.png

Earthsite is proud to announce that we have endorsed the California Clean Energy Jobs Act. This act will close a giant corporate tax loophole and create clean energy jobs for California.

According to their website, “An outrageous tax loophole allows out-of-state corporations to pay lower taxes in California, costing our state a billion dollars a year. This loophole actually rewards companies for creating jobs outside of California. The California Clean Energy Jobs Act closes this loophole by forcing out-of-state corporations to pay their fair share, bringing in much-needed state revenue that will be invested in clean energy and energy efficiency projects, create good-paying jobs, and help fund our schools.”

Dharma (pronounced DAR-ma) is a Sanskrit word meaning “right action”, “right intention” and “right livelihood”.  The father, daughter team started Dharma five years ago with the intention of bringing more compassion into the financial industry.  Today they have over 2000 clients and are growing each year with additional staff and a world class office in downtown San Francisco.

Communicating Sustainability Using Social Media

why-use-social_media.jpg

Companies today are able to engage in dialogue with their consumers through a variety of mediums, from traditional methods such as product packaging, to newer methods such as social media. However, according to a recent study by Carbon Trust, only a small percentage of consumers place confidence in companies’ sustainability claims. Additionally, hesitations in integrating social media into communications strategy still exist alongside a lack of understanding of how effective these tools can be. Our session today will examine how synergies between social media and communication strategy can have a tremendous impact by restoring consumer confidence, creating two-way dialogue, and promoting green practices. We investigate cost, return, strategy, transparency, and benchmarking for these communications campaigns, within the greater conversation of how this form of new media and globalization have compelled change in the corporate- consumer relationship.
