Earthsite Launches New Company Website

Sometimes we get so busy building other websites that time just slips away and it takes a while for us to re-design our own website.  Well, the time has come for us to announce our new and improved Earthsite website!

Our new website is designed in our new favorite platform: WordPress.  Plus we’ve taken our own advice and simplified.  As a service based business, the main feature of our website is our Web Design Portfolio.  We are proud of the hundreds of websites our team has created over the years and are happy to share them with you here.  In addition, our Client list has grown immensely.  Check it out!

First Month Online Revenues Far Exceed Cost of New Website

DollarTreeThere’s nothing like receiving positive testimonials from our clients.  When it involves a story that their new website brought in more money then it cost to build the website, we can’t help but jump for glee!  We recently launched a new website for Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary which included a custom build of an online registration form, something their old website did not have.  A month after we launched the Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary website, Michael Stusser (founder of Osmosis), sent us this testimonial:

“In the first month since going live revenues from the new online spa booking form were five times the cost of building the website.”

Now that’s something to celebrate, don’t you think?

Earthsite Celebrates Five Years of 100% Renewable Energy

logoWe are fortunate to live and work in a county that has worked very hard to promote sustainability in many ways.  One of the most recent successes was the launch of Marin Clean Energy. Marin Clean Energy (MCE), California’s first Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) program, was founded in 2008 and began serving customers in 2010.  When we found out about MCE we immediately signed up and can proudly say we have been running our business on 100% renewable energy for 5 years.

MCE has grown over the past five years and has expanded beyond Marin County into Napa, Richmond, and some parts of the East Bay.  We are proud to be a part of this movement and helping us all reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.

Earthsite Partners with Green Geeks, the Leading Green Energy Web Host

logo@2xAt Earthsite we have always been committed to being as Green and Sustainable as we can be.  We do our best to pass this on to our clients as well. Recently, we teamed up with GreenGeek.com, the leading green energy web host, to provide hosting services to our clients.

Why is this important?  According to the GreenGeeks.com website, “Each web hosting server produces 1390 pounds of CO2 each year…web hosting services is estimated to be greater than 400% each year for the foreseeable future.”  As information technology continues to grow, it is expected to exceed the airline industry in environmental pollution.  Yikes!

Joey Shepp, Earthsite founder, gave a workshop for the Silicon Valley Business Journal on the topic of “Social Media Marketing for the Wine Industry”.

Earthsite Founder, Joey Shepp’s twitter handle @SocialVenture was listed in the top 50 most connected tweeters in the world of social enterprise, commissioned by The Guardian Social Enterprise Network.

“Research commissioned by the Guardian Social Enterprise Network from social media consultancy Tweetminster shows us which Twitter players packed the most punches during a three-month period ending earlier this year.

Tweetminster sought to identify the 1000 most active social enterprise Twitter accounts by searching for the tweeters who tweeted most about relevant terms such as #socent and social investment. These 1000 accounts were then analysed, with the “most connected” accounts being the ones with the most followers out of this group of 1000.

Using that methodology, here are the top 50 most connected organisations and individuals on Twitter in social enterprise – the Lady Gagas and Justin Biebers of the socent world.”

Maker Faire 2012: From Robots to Bamboo Bikes

maker_faire3.jpg

This past weekend we had a chance to spend the day at the 7th Annual Maker Faire event in San Mateo, CA.  The event is put on by Make magazine, a magazine dedicated to the do-it-yourself community.  The event was chock full of intventors and entrepreneurs who are using mostly reused resources to build everything from robots to bamboo bikes.

This year there was a Homegrown Village that featured an array of sustainability projects.  We saw snails, compost, bees and even got to try some probiotic soda.

This is a great event for the whole family with lots of hands on projects for kids and robots of course. We even spotted Wall-E at one point!

Some tips for getting there: carpool or take public transportation, get there early and be prepared to wait in some lines as the parking lots fill up quickly!
